Aimée-Lee Xu Hsien is a proudly Chirish (Chinese-Irish) director from Sydney.
Her work is exuberant, playful and always human. Whether it be comedy or drama, Aimée-Lee’s strength comes in her performance direction and her innate ability to bring out the best from whoever she is capturing on screen. Her keen eye for detail and comprehensive production design also brings a lavish visual style to all her work.
She has directed commercial work for Uber Eats, MLA, H&M, PayPal, Commonwealth Bank, Maltesers, ABC, Square and TikTok to name a few.
Beyond TVCs, Aimée-Lee is also a gifted narrative filmmaker. Her recent comedy web-series Pleasant Avenue, made with production support from both Screen Australia and Create NSW; stars Heather Mitchell, Ursula Yovich and John Batchelor.
Her narrative work has screened at over 25 international film festivals and has been both nominated and won a slew of awards; including Best Short Film at the Academy Award-accredited Palm Springs International ShortFest.
